CETL St. Augustine Workshop Registration

This workshop looks at how brain-based learning theories can be applied in the university classroom to enhance learning. First participants will examine the neuroscience of learning and some of the tenet of brain-based learning theories then determine how the theory can be applied at the university level.
Participants will also study techniques for making the classroom more engaging, learner-friendly and successful. You will be introduced to exciting, easily-applied techniques that are based on how the human brain assimilates and retains information.

2. Theories of learning
3. Teaching and Learning Techniques

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the research findings regarding the basic neuroscience of learning;
2. Illustrate the relationship between the neuroscience of learning and the theories of learning;
3. Describe the concept of brain-based learning;
4. Evaluate teaching and learning techniques for appropriateness based on the brain-based learning theory.
