This workshop explores the issues related to planning effective classroom assessment in the context of 21st century teaching and learning. Emphasis is placed on assessment methods and ‘assessment as learning’.

This workshop is intended to initiate deep conversations among colleagues about higher education assessment so as to enhance practice related to lecturers’ approach to student assessment. Lecturers would glean the relationship between the Curriculum Matrix and the Assessment Plan as critical documentation underpinning higher education assessment. Ultimately, it is hoped that the session would help broaden lecturers’ knowledge-based about higher education assessment and so enhance their approach to this critical aspect of teaching/learning.
