This workshop aims to bring awareness to the benefits and potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education. As the use of AI in education continues to grow, it is essential for faculty to understand its development and role in curricula design, instruction, and assessment. Participants will learn how AI can enhance teaching practices and support student learning, as well as explore the ethical considerations and challenges associated with its use. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will develop an understanding of how to integrate AI tools and techniques into their teaching practices, allowing for more personalized and effective instruction. 

Participants by the end of the workshop should be able to:

  • define AI and its development in the context of education.
  • discuss ethical considerations and challenges associated with the use of AI in higher education.
  • identify potential uses and benefits of AI in curriculum design and instruction
  • evaluate the role of AI in assessment and feedback.
  • apply AI tools and techniques to enhance teaching practices.
