Wed, Nov 19, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM GMT-4
Online Learning (Synchronous)

In today’s increasingly diverse and dynamic classrooms, higher education teachers must be equipped to meet the cultural, social, and linguistic needs of all learners. This engaging two-hour webinar offers educators in the Caribbean practical tools and critical insights to implement Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in ways that reflect and respect the region’s unique historical, cultural, and social realities.
Grounded in the Caribbean context, this session will explore how cultural identity, colonial legacies, and local knowledge systems intersect with teaching and learning. Participants will reflect on their own pedagogical practices, engage in dialogue with colleagues, and leave with concrete strategies to build more inclusive, student-centered learning environments.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Define culturally responsive teaching with reference to the Caribbean higher education context.
2. Identify key elements of Caribbean culture(s) that influence(s) student engagement and learning.
3. Analyze how personal cultural assumptions may impact teaching practices.
4. Examine culturally responsive strategies in curriculum design, classroom interaction, and assessment.
5. Develop an action plan to incorporate CRT principles into their teaching practice.
